The
Technical Committee on Ionizing Radiation (TCRI) was one of the
eleven technical committees in the Asia Pacific Metrology
Programme (APMP).
TCRI was established in November 1998 headed by a
chairperson under whom were four working groups which were
responsible for moving measurement comparisons and mutual
cooperation in the ionizing radiation field in the Asia-Pacific
region and holds TCRI Workshop and Meeting every two years. The initial chairperson was Mr. Wen-Song Hwang (INER, Taiwan) who was also the leader of the National Radiation Standard Laboratory. TCRI chairperson has a two-year term of office. Mr. Hwang headed TCRI from November 1998 to November 2000. The second chairperson was Dr. Tae-Soon Park (KRISS, Korea). Now the chairperson is Dr. David Webb (ARPANSA, Australia). Under TCRI are four working groups. Each working group has a coordinator who is responsible for get going with TCRI key comparisons. These four working groups are: Dosimetry, Radioactivity, Neutron Measurement and CMC Review; the coordinator for each group are respectively Wen-Song Hwang (INER), Dr. Yoshio Hino (NMIJ), Dr. Katsuhisa Kudo (NMIJ) and Dr. David Webb (ARPANSA). The major mission of TCRI is executing the tasks assigned by the APMP. At this stage, TCRI is mainly working for the activities of global mutual recognition arrangement (MRA).
