The measurement standards of ionization radiation, according to their physics definitions, can be divided into

 two main groups:

  Dosimetry standard and Radioactivity standards.。

Dosimetry standard mainly measures the energy passed from the radiation rays to the material; Radioactivity standards mainly measures the times that the radioactive material decay.  These measurement standards often are traceable to the BIPM through regional or international key comparisons.
